CoTaskAI is a browser extension that provides AI-powered assistance for various browsing tasks. The Extension allows you to analyse and interact with web content through AI capabilities while prioritising privacy and data minimisation.

Currently, the Extension does not require user registration or account creation. If this changes in the future, additional terms may apply regarding account management, security, and responsibilities.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to use the Extension to:

• Violate any laws or regulations
• Infringe upon intellectual property rights
• Harass, abuse, or harm others
• Generate or distribute harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content
• Interfere with or disrupt the Extension or servers connected to it
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Extension

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the Extension

CoTaskAI is open-source software released under the MIT License. All rights not expressly granted under the MIT License are reserved. The CoTaskAI name, logo, and associated branding elements are the exclusive property of the project maintainers.

The Extension may interact with third-party AI services to provide functionality. These interactions are subject to the terms and privacy policies of those services. We are not responsible for any action or inaction of these third-party services.

6.2 Websites and Web Content

The Extension interacts with websites you visit. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of these websites. The Extension processes content as directed by you but does not endorse, guarantee, or take responsibility for any website content.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR COURSE OF PERFORMANCE.

We do not warrant that:

• The Extension will function uninterrupted, secure, or available at any particular time or location
• Any errors or defects will be corrected
• The Extension is free of viruses or other harmful components
• The results of using the Extension will meet your requirements or be accurate or reliable

9. AI Output Disclaimer

The Extension uses AI technology to generate responses, summaries, and analysis. AI output may:

• Contain inaccuracies or errors
• Generate content that could be considered inappropriate, biased, or offensive despite safeguards
• Not be suitable for critical or high-stakes decision making
• Reflect limitations in underlying AI models

Users should exercise appropriate judgment when using AI-generated output and verify important information through other sources.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the project maintainers, contributors, partners, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) that arise from or relate to your use of the Extension or violation of these Terms.
